The Foundation
Fund-Raising Events
For the purpose of supporting the activities of the Women’s Centre of Montreal, the Foundation organizes two fundraising activities each year which are primarily aimed at the business community.
The Montreal business community contributes generously to the Centre’s mission, supporting it through sponsorships in money and services, donations, items for the silent auction, gifts for the golf tournament and purchasing tickets for our events.
Here are some more details on our activities. Don’t forget that it is also possible to organize a fundraising activity in a business to support our Foundation! For more information on the subject, please contact Sandra Bourbonnière at 514 842-1066 or cfmwcm@centredesfemmesdemtl.org.
Golf Tournament
Our A good stroke for a good cause! tournament has been held for more than ten years. In addition to spending a very pleasant day among friends, colleagues or clients, the golfers, in ever-increasing numbers, participate in raising funds used to support struggling women and their families of the Montreal region.
The 2011 Golf Tournament
The Women's Centre of Montreal's mission is a cause dear
to the hearts, not only of all the Centre's employees and dedicated volunteers,
but also to many members of the business community of Greater Montreal.
Monday, August 22, under Honorary Co-president Louise
Béchamp, senior partner, Fasken Martineau, the Women's Centre of Montreal held
its 16th annual golf tournament at the Montreal Gold Club. With an attendee list
of close to 200 business people, the event raised more than $46
We would like to thank many businesses for their
participation: SITQ (Ivanohé Cambridge) as our SILVER sponsor; Bentley Leathers
inc, Assurance Chubb, FCT, Fiera Sceptre, as our BRONZE sponsors, and Caisse
centrale Desjardins, Claire de Lune, Gowlings, Industrielle Alliance, Johnson &
Johnson, KPMG, Desjardins Group and TV5 as partners.
As always, this activity could not have been the success
that it was without the event's individual sponsors and their commitment to our
mission: Jacques Audette (Fasken Martineau);
A big thank you to all of you for your helping spirit!

Benefit evening
This evening has grown in popularity over the last few years. Held in March, the event provides guests with the opportunity to mingle in a warm atmosphere while learning about the Centre’s achievements. The silent auction is always very popular among the guests, who very generously participate.

This exceptional outcome far exceeded our expectations,
and we would like to thank our many sponsors for their enthusiastic
participation: Agropur, RBC Dexia and TATA Communications (major sponsors);
Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Qualité
Habitation (main sponsors); Bentley Leathers Bleu Blanc Rouge, CHUBB Insurance,

Mouvement Desjardins and the Caisse centrale Desjardins (wine and cocktail

the guests throughout the evening.
Like the golf tournament, the success of the benefit gala
was also due to the commitment of the event’s patrons to the Centre’s mission.
It was our privilege to welcome some new and highly dynamic people to our team
this year. They joined the women we refer to affectionately as our “experienced
patrons”, whom we thank most sincerely for their outstanding commitment over the
years:
We would also like to mention the remarkable work done by
Altitude C, which graciously designed and coordinated what was ultimately a very
colourful and emotional event!
Our special thanks go to Les Grands Ballets canadiens de
Montréal for the moving performance by Bryna Catherine Pasco, and to Maria
Varganici for her wonderful testimony, which received a standing ovation.
Lastly, we are extremely grateful to our service partners:
