The Centre
A Word from the Executive Director
“Our team of 55 employees and close to 300 volunteers is called upon to intervene in various spheres of women’s lives, from family to conjugal situations, as well as their social and professional integration.
Since the Centre’s establishment in 1973, more than half a million women have sought its services in order that they may develop their autonomy and lead productive and rewarding lives.
In fact, the Women’s Centre of Montreal is much more than a unique resource where women from all origins can explore different solutions and find concrete tools that will enable them to take charge of their lives, to blossom and to play an active role in society, as well as to improve their living conditions and that of their families.
It is also a place where they can share the only remedy which, according to Pandora’s legend, makes life’s miseries bearable: HOPE…
Hope to be able to earn a decent living, to live without violence, hope to see our children grow safe from poverty, hope to find a host country where life is peaceful, hope to build a better world for future generations.”
